  thanks Tom. Henri’s book isn’t really relevant for this list unfortunately. I know it’s popular, but it’s not strictly a drawing and painting instruction book. Agree on Ted Seth Jacobs though, I should perhaps add his big figure drawing book (the name escapes me for the moment) and “Drawing with an Open Mind”.   Book history, the book trade, and typography were an area of personal interest for two bibliographers, Robert Runser and Henry Koch, whose work helped turn what had been a college library into a major research library in the years after WWII and on into the ': Ranti Junus.
